President, Financial Advisor

My entire career has been in finance, but the work has taken different forms. After graduating from Clemson University in 1989 with a degree in Financial Management, the next 18 years were spent in the corporate world - national banks and commercial finance companies. The work was analytical and strategic, but something was missing. There wasn't a direct connection to the people whose lives were actually affected by the decisions being made.

In 2007, that changed. Joining this practice meant working face-to-face with individuals and families who were trusting someone else with the results of decades of hard work. The responsibility felt different, and it still does.

What makes this work meaningful is helping people work through difficult moments - health crises, divorces, family conflicts - while still making progress toward their financial goals. Those situations require more than technical knowledge. They need honest conversations about what's realistic, patience when plans need to change, and a willingness to adapt as life unfolds.

Growing up in Pittsburgh taught me something about how people view money - it's earned through effort, and it deserves to be treated seriously. That perspective has stayed with me.

Outside the office, time goes to family - my wife, our two children, and our pets. Coaching youth baseball and basketball teams has been rewarding over the years. Cycling takes up a good amount of free time, sports get followed more closely than they probably should, and staying connected with friends remains a priority. The balance matters.
